Holidoc Chex, currently standing at West Cove Quarter Horses, is a line-bred Doc Bar stallion.

Holidoc Echo, the sire of Holidoc Chex, is a line-bred Doc Quixote stallion. Doc Quixote is a leading sire of cutting horses whose get have won over $10 million in NCHA competition. Doc Quixote was also the 1973 non-pro NCHA futurity champion. Doc Quixote is the sire of Docs Okie Quixote, the 1983 NCHA futurity champion and 1984 NCHA derby champion. Holidocs Echo carries Joe Reed II twice in his pedigree. Joe Reed II is the sire of Leo.

Hollywood Wilma’s pedigree includes Hollywood Gold, the legendary sire whose line produced Hollywood Dun It.

Leo appears three times through Chex Golden Bar. Leo is the sire of Leo San; the sire of Peppy San who sired Peppy San Badger, the leading sire of cutting horses.

Stormy Indian is by Stormy Lee by Leo. The dam of Stormy Indian is by Nugget McCue S who was bred by Warren Shoemaker. Nugget McCue S was a pretty palomino stallion that was used in cutting and was just plain cowy. Warren Shoemaker built his breeding program on Coke Roberds’ and Hank Wiescamp built on Warren Shoemaker's program. The dam of Stormy Indian is Brush Papoose by Brush Mount who sired Gold Mount. Gold Mount was out of Miss Helen by Plaudit. Miss Helen was the dam of Skipper’s Lad, sire of Skipa Star.

The dam of Brush Mount was out of a grandaughter of Fred Litze who was by Old Fred--more Coke Roberds breeding. Brush Papoose was out of Indian Girl whose sire was out of a daughter of Fred Litz. The maternal granddam of Indian Girl was also a granddaughter of Fred Litz. Holidoc Chex has many crosses to Old Fred.

I am especially fond of King Fritz as he is a line-bred stallion that sired very well. The Chex horses were great cutting horses and working cowhorses.

Bar A Lady was by Leo Hope by Leo and out of a daughter by Skylark Bar to Three Bars.

Sodak Star Gazer was by Baldy Pat Star by Pat Star Jr. by Oklahoma Star Jr. by Oklahoma Star. Oklahoma Star was a great sire of working horses especially great rodeo horses. Pat Star Jr. mares made Two Eyed Jack a great sire.

Sonny Dee Bar is a sire of World Champions at halter and performance. He was one of the all-time great sires in more recent times.

The top side of Holidoc Chex’s pedigree contains many great cutting and working horses. He is bred to be very cowy. The bottom side of Holidoc Chex’s pedigree is very good for pretty heads, balance and conformation.
